INTRODUCTION
The new era has given rise to unprecedented mission for China's higher agricultural and forestry education. In the face of emerging needs, there lies the requirement of the formation of a new wave of global scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. The EAgE seeks to find an answer to these questions:
How can emerging agricultural education promote agricultural and rural modernization and make historic contributions to building a beautiful and blissful China where people can enjoy clear sky, blue mountains, clean water, safe food and a peaceful life?
Can China’s footprint be of some significance to other developing countries?
How can China’s experience in agricultural technologies and management practices can be adapted in the rest of the world?
NAU will hold a two-phrase project in this view
THE LECTURE
Prof. Dong Weichun, Vice President of Nanjing Agricultural University and an expert in education, will give a lecture on Friday 5th Nov 2021 at 4:00pm (Beijing time). The lecture will focus on the background of the emerging agricultural education, major contents and how Chinese universities are reforming traditional education to achieve a more harmonious development between human life and the systems of nature & society. The lecture will be held offline and online (zoom ID to be provided after registration).
Dong Weichun董维春
PhD. in Management, Vice President of Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU). Professor and PhD supervisor of Education Economics and Management at NAU’s College of Public Administration. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Education Professional Committee of China Agricultural Society; Vice Chairman of the Higher Agricultural and Forestry Education Branch of China Higher Education Society, one of the major leading profile of the Research and Implementation Group of Emerging Agricultural Education Construction of the Ministry of Education. He has published more than 100 papers in higher education management. He has won several awards for education management and research, such as the 2nd prize of National Teaching Achievements, 2nd prize of the Academic Contribution Award of Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education.
