The presentation will cover the two research areas mentioned above. I will start my talk with “Grass Cell Walls: Beyond the Boundaries” and provide a brief overview of 1) cell wall related work in the Miscanthus bioenergy crop and 2) work on studying cell wall – environment interactions. I will then move to the main topic “New Frontiers in Papaver Self-Incompatibility”. After providing some background on Papaver self-incompatibility (SI) I will present some recent work on using the engineered Arabidopsis “SI” system, which functionally mimics Papaver SI, to study SI-induced PCD.
报告人简介：
Maurice Bosch教授就职于英国Aberystwyth大学。 他的研究方向包括植物细胞壁调控和自交不亲和性。 2002年在荷兰Nijmegen大学获得博士学位，论文题目为Titti Mariani中雌蕊特异性富含脯氨酸糖蛋白的功能研究。 随后，他加入了Peter Hepler (University of Massachusetts, Amherst)的实验室，研究细胞壁结构成分和细胞壁动力学。 2005年，他加入了位于伯明翰的Noni Franklin-Tong实验室，研究罂粟花粉自交不亲和反应中的细胞程序性死亡调控。 2008年4月至今，Maurice Bosch教授任职于英国Aberystwyth University大学。
